They call Bellingham home, their nest not too far from views of ocean, lake, and snowy mountaintops. Together they navigate the gray and rainy streets of the Pacific North West, brightening each others' lives with a smile. Serge and Olya started to realize the existence of each other around their teenage years, and grew to become great friends. Just when a simple friendship grew into something more meaningful, after 4 sweet months of dating, Serge couldn’t wait much longer to ask Olya to marry him. He anxiously waited for Olya to fly back home from her trip to Hawaii. Serge greeted Olya at the airport with the most happiest smile on his face, ahh, she was finally back home, he thought. The two went to Skylarks Hidden Cafe, ate and talked about Olya’s trip.
After a late dinner, they strolled along Boulevard Park, making their way to a bench that overlooked the beautiful ocean, Bellingham Bay. As Serge glanced at his time, he realized it’s nearly midnight! With several made-up-excuses, Serge quickly went to his car to get the ring. On April 28, 2015, Serge got down on one knee to ask one very important question…and of course, without any hesitation, Olya said yes.
Four months later, they dressed into a white dress and a navy blue suit as they prepared to marry. As their friends and family gathered around them, Serge and Olya promised to stay true and hold hands as they age, memorizing the grooves and crevices on each finger. As husband and wife, they promised eternity and a day in their vows and sealed their commitment with a kiss. The rest of the evening was spent laughing, eating yummy food, and cheering to what may have been the happiest couple in the world at that exact moment. The earth paused on its axis, with just enough time to Serge and Olya to realize that, yes, their day was nothing short of perfection.
I would like to with you both many more blessings from above, and many more years of happiness and love! So happy for you both and cannot wait to watch your future unfold.
