Their love story began through mutual friends. After exchanging texts for some time, they went on their first date to Aslan for dinner and drinks. That evening sparked the beginning of something beautiful, their love story. It wasn't long after Zac knew Helena was the girl for him! "I love her smile and how her cheeks light up when she is happy!", he said. The couple shared many mutual interests in playing board games, enjoying a good cup of joe, hiking, walking around city parks, camping and playing with their two pups! Oh, and vacations, because who doesn't love a good vacation :)

After months of preparing the perfect proposal, Zac decided to book a couples massage at the Chrysalis. It was relaxing, romantic and the perfect evening that the couple would never forget! They after enjoyed dinner at Keenans, where Zac held onto a beautiful Ben Bridge engagement ring and couldn't wait to ask Helena to be his wife. But he didn't propose there, he wanted to make sure it was a moment between just the two of them, in the privacy of their own home. Helena, without a single thought of suspicion, was in for a big surprise. Zac got down on one knee and asked Helena to marry him. With the biggest smile on her face and without a single hesitation, Helena said YES!

On a gloomy, rainy day on October 18, 2019, Helena's grandmother helped zip up her (gorgeous!!) velvet, emerald green dress. It was a quiet morning filled with much emotion. There was laughter, anticipation, tears of joy, tears of sorrow and so much love. It's almost hard to put into words what that morning was like. In all honesty, this was a morning that I will never forget, one that will always have a special place in my heart. It was a very, very special and beautiful morning.

With the most beautiful background, Helena and Zac shared their first look right outside their parents home on Lake Whatcom. I prayed for the rain to hold off, and I'm so thankful that it did! I grin so much behind my camera during the first look, there's something SO EXTRA special in this moment. Maybe it's all the anticipation, excitement build up to finally be able to hold each other's hand and say 'let's do this!'.

As the sun was setting, there was a beautiful family-centered Ceremony held at Lombardi's. It was focused on love - their love for one another and the unity of Zac and Helena becoming one. After witnessing the SWEETEST vows to one another,  they sealed their commitment with a kiss. And the rest of the evening? Oh, it was magical. I LOVED how intimate this wedding was. Everyone sat down at a long table seating everyone so perfectly. There was much laughter, smiles, tears and love in the room. The aroma of Italian food filled the room; Lombardi's did not disappoint! If you yet haven't been, go do yourself a favor and treat yourself to some delicious Italian dish. And we cannot forget the cake! You guys, the most moist and delicate wedding cake was made by Nancy at Saltadena, have you been to her bakery?! If not, that's another one you have got to add to your list. Perhaps a slice of goodness after dinner at Lombardi's?! I think yes.

I just want to end by saying, I'm feeling so blessed to have captured your wedding day, Zac and Helena, truly. I cannot even begin to express my gratitude for choosing me to document your first day as husband and wife. I smiled till I no longer could feel my cheeks, I cried tears I didn't know I could cry and I rejoiced with you, as I watched you both beam with joy and love one another. It was a beautiful, beautiful day and it was an honor to have been apart of it. I wish you both a lifetime of happiness!

XOXO, Kristine
